Question:
what are some whole grains a college student can eat?
in my opinion, whole grains aren't that much better than not-whole grains, (aka refined grains), because they still contain the same "bad" stuff. lectins, which can cause gastrointestinal issues, can bind to insulin receptors (further affecting the body's metabolism to work inefficiently/undesirably), and can cause leptin resistance (which essentially tells your body when you're full). phytates, which are like anti-minerals...they dont allow absorption of the minerals that we need (ie, calcium, magnesium, zinc). and then there's the whole gluten issue that's on blast. but, some substitutes that are good, and are pretty available in the caf, are:
quinoa, squash, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, crustless quiches, eggplant, spaghetti squash

i haven’t posted in FOREVER. and im sorry. but this last semester was seriously the most hectic crazy busy semester of my life.

so, i decided i wanted to start anew.

i don’t like stuffy noses

  • banana
  • hot house wrap (grilled chicken, cheese, guacamole, lettuce)
  • grilled chicken breast
  • salad with chicken, cheese, olives, carrots, a hard boiled egg, grape tomatoes + extra virgin olive oil and red wine raspberry vinegar 
  • dark chocolate coconut bar

between being low on caf points, not having a car, school, studying, and work…eating has been hard to do

WOD:

cybex elliptical for 20 minutes - 0.90 miles and 180 calories
